PS Renewables clinches five new contracts as UK O&M arm ramps up
PS Renewables has signed five new operations and maintenance (O&M) deals with Green Power Partners (GPP), taking its UK O&M portfolio to nearly 300MW.
The deals, signed at this week’s Intersolar exhibition in Munich, will extend PS’ existing contract to account for more than 55MW.
PS is to provide a full turnkey service for the new additions and Matt Hazell, commercial director at PS Renewables, said the projects were an “important endorsement” for its work in the UK.
“PS Renewables embraces the full life-cycle for solar farms, and enjoys the responsibility of stewardship. We’re delivering great value for GPP both through reduced administration and by offering a global price structure for their portfolio,” Hazell said.
While the projects have not been individually named, PS did reveal them to be located in the south and north east of the country.
“The key point for us when we took the decision was trust in our partner. For us it is very important to be sure that all preventive maintenance programmes will be executed, and that our plants are always monitored and corrective actions are taken fast,” Jose Luis Gandia, asset manager at GPP, said.
O&M activity in the UK continues to increase, and PS’ contract spree comes after two major companies announced their intent to target the UK solar services market in the coming months.
French renewables developer Voltalia this week said it was intending to acquire Martifer Solar to add an O&M pipeline to its business, while ENcome revealed its acquisition of abakus solar would see its own UK O&M portfolio grow to around 300MW.
