Working together with us

PS Renewables has a strong track record of working closely with landowners and their agents on land holdings from 20 acres to 2,000 acres.

We know that every parcel of land is unique and that the specific details of how it integrates into the larger landholdings, the local community or adjacent land is key to a successful project.

We start by approaching the landowner and identifying the most appropriate land for a renewable energy project.  This site selection will include the most likely successful planning and grid outlook, but we work together to maximise the commercial benefits to the landowner and to minimise compromising any historic legacy or economic value from other adjacent land uses.

We are mindful that succession planning, IHT and natural capital are an essential part of a landowner’s consideration, and all these elements will form part of any discussions.

We also know that landowners have a huge responsibility to maintain the land for future generations and that making a change from agriculture to renewable energy is a decision that needs careful consideration.

How it works

  • We may have identified that your land has the potential for solar, battery, green hydrogen or onshore wind development OR you may have contacted us.
  • We always keep the process as transparent as possible and can provide you with testimonials and referee landowners that we have worked with recently to give you comfort.
  • We agree Heads of Terms for an Option to Lease.
  • We then work closely with you through the process of acquiring a grid connection agreement and planning consent.
  • Along the way, we pay for all the development fees (whether we are successful or not), including your agent’s fees and your legal representatives.
  • Once we have the necessary consents, we enter the agreed Lease with the landowner and build out the renewable generating asset.
  • We will manage the public relations and liaise with local interested parties including parish councils and residents to make each project as frictionless and sympathetic as we can.
  • We are always available from the very first meeting, to the day that we remove the final panel from the land right at the end of the generation period.

A successful project starts by building trust between the landowner and the developer. In the majority of situations, we will own and operate the assets for the Lease Term so we are looking for a long-term relationship with our landowners that is mutually beneficial and frictionless as far as possible.

But… the punch-line is… we made it. Or rather PS Renewables made it. And the best bit? The delays caused by others have resulted in the system now generating 8 Megawatts on the same 28 acres. Looking back over the last eight years has simply made me appreciate how good PS Renewables are. Trust me, I know. They were my fourth attempt…
