2025: A ‘Decade Defining’ Year for PS Renewables

For the team at PS Renewables, 2025 has been a year of resilience, innovation, and growth. In the face of Gate 2, political change and sweeping legislative reform, we’ve not only sustained momentum but continued to deliver industry-leading results. Every milestone reflects the dedication and creativity of our team and the people we work with. This review celebrates those achievements and sets the stage for an even more ambitious year ahead.

Jeremy Hinton (Commercial Director)

NSIPs

Off the back of an important growth year in 2024 for PS Renewables came NESO Connections Reform. With the starting pistol on 5 November 2024, 2025 was dominated by securing land deals, working with land agents and law firms to secure our strong NSIP pipeline in record time. We submitted 8 projects for Gate 2 and 2 for Gate 1, all prior to the August deadline.

We are now beginning to see the fruits of this huge effort with early notifications confirming 5,000 MW of DC solar offered a Gate 2 connection. This is a ‘decade defining’ outcome for PS Renewables and showcases the strength of the NSIP development team.

Outside of this, we’ve also been getting on with the day job, securing agreements to progress our growing pipeline of solar NSIPs (two of which we hope to launch in 2026) as well as watching a number of our projects reach milestone stages. We were proud to launch plans for South Brooks Solar Farm in September 2025, our third solar NSIP working in partnership with EDF power solutions. We have also seen the acceptance of Rosefield Solar Farm (again in partnership with EDF power solutions) for examination and the conclusion of the examination for One Earth Solar Farm, working with Orsted.

This sets us up for a cracking 2026. Consultations for South Brooks Solar Farm and our soon to be public new projects, and hopefully positive outcomes for One Earth and Rosefield.

Sub 50MW

The sub-50 team (soon to be sub-100 team!) have not been immune to all the excitement of the Connections Reform process, as January started with a flurry of activity getting projects into planning. This year, we successfully received planning permission for 3 projects (c.90MW combined) and have submitted planning applications for 4 further projects (another c.100MW combined) which we expect to have decisions on between now and February.

Having successfully submitted 18 projects into the Connections Reform process, we await the outcome from several DNOs at the point of writing, but the ones we have received so far have met or exceeded expectations capping off another fantastic year of development.

Aaron Tucker (Operations Director)

As another year closes, the team has successfully connected another project to the UK’s energy network, providing clean green energy to meet domestic demand.

We have furthered our trusted partners network, meeting new contractors, bringing new technologies and opportunities into the business.

John Towie (our Grid Manager) faced a huge challenge working with the team to secure grid connections following the UK’s grid reform. The team has now begun construction on a 70MWp 132 KV connection partnered with specialised contractors. We are on target for a successful connection in 2026.

We have strengthened the construction team further this year with the addition of another Site Manager, Cosmin Grigorita and also our new Electrical Lead Foreman, Tom Bartholomew. They have both proven to be assets to the business and have further strengthened our safely operated construction sites.

As the team head into a well-deserved festive break before the challenges of next year approach, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all

A Very Merry Christmas And A Happy New 2026

Tom Bartholomew (Electrical Foreman)

I joined PS Renewables in September 2025 and have loved every minute. It’s a fantastic company to work for and I’m proud to be part of such a highly skilled team who are making a positive impact on the environment by generating clean, renewable energy. As the Electrical Foreman I have been involved in the successful construction and commissioning of Living Energy Solar Farm in Devon. I look forward to working on exciting future projects in 2026 and beyond.

From the whole PS Renewables team, we’d like to thank everyone who has worked with us to make this year a success – from our consultant teams, suppliers and  landowners, to the communities where we operate and the wider solar industry. We look forward to working together with you in 2026 to drive positive change.
