Planning permission granted for new solar farm capable of powering 7,000 homes

PS Renewables is delighted to announce that the Northorpe Fen Solar Farm near Bourne, Lincolnshire has received planning permission from South Kesteven District Council.

This is an important milestone for this project which, once operational, would generate renewable energy of the equivalent electricity required to power 7,000 homes.

Senior Planning Manager, James Walker, said: “We are thrilled that this project has been granted planning permission. The site was carefully selected, having regard to the local context and constraints, and the application was supported by robust surveys and assessments. This resulted in limited public and technical objection to the application. We would like to thank the project team and the local community for their input into the application.”

The Northorpe Fen Solar Farm will be located on 45 acres of land to the south-east of Bourne and north-east of Thurlby.
