PS Renewables and egg Power expand partnership with second 70MW solar farm deal
PS Renewables and egg Power have strengthened their partnership with a second major UK solar project in a matter of months, announcing a new agreement on Pilmoor Solar Farm.
Located in North Yorkshire, Pilmoor Solar Farm will have a generating capacity of 70MW, making it one of the largest projects in PS Renewables’ development pipeline. Once operational, the solar farm could generate enough clean electricity to power more than 21,000 homes.
The agreement will see egg Power acquire the project rights, with PS Renewables remaining as EPC contractor and continuing its involvement through the delivery phase, drawing on its extensive experience in developing, designing and constructing utility-scale solar projects.
The announcement marks the second collaboration between PS Renewables and egg Power in only a few months, following the partnership on the 70MW Grange Solar Farm in Suffolk. Together, the two projects represent 140MW of new renewable energy capacity and demonstrate the strength of the relationship between the two organisations.
After acquiring the project last year, PS Renewables has worked closely with local stakeholders to refine the design and ensure the project delivers environmental and community benefits alongside renewable energy generation. The project achieves a measured Biodiversity Net Gain and includes proposals for biodiversity enhancements, new habitat creation and landscape measures designed to integrate the solar farm sensitively into its surroundings plus ongoing management and maintenance measures to ensure their retention and continued effectiveness throughout the solar farm’s operation.
